Visa Information
All visitors to the Republic of Korea will require a visa or entry authorisation (K-ETA). The provision of visas and entry to the country is a sovereign matter for the Korean authorities. Delegates are responsible for their own travel and for arranging the necessary documentation for a visa or entry.
IFLA does not assume any responsibility for visa issues and is unable to assist with queries.
Please read carefully the information below and follow the links to establish what visa or authorisation documentation you require for your visit to the Republic of Korea.
All participants attending the IFLA WLIC 2026 in Busan must hold a valid passport. Depending on your nationality and length of stay, a visa may be required. Before departure, participants must apply for either the Korea Electronic Travel Authorization (K-ETA) or a Visa, depending on their citizenship status.
Use the Visa Navigator and your nationality to establish if you need a K-ETA or Visa.
K-ETA Eligible Countries (Visa-Waiver Countries)
Participants from countries eligible for K-ETA (those with a visa waiver agreement with the Republic of Korea) must apply for K-ETA at least 72 hours prior to boarding their flight.
- The K-ETA is valid for 3 years from the date of approval (or until the passport expiration date, whichever comes first).
- We recommend applying immediately after booking your flight.
- A nominal fee applies.
Countries requiring a visa
Participants from countries not eligible for K-ETA must apply for a visa at a Korean diplomatic mission in, or close to, their country of residence.
Use the List of Korean Diplomatic Missions Abroad to locate your nearest Embassy or Consulate.
Where to Apply: Korean Embassy or Consulate in the applicant’s country or region of residence. You may be able to do an electronic application before attending an appointment.
