General
will the conference be live streamed?
Only the opening and closing session will be live-streamed.
will there be an exhibition?
Yes, there will be an exhibition at the Conference. Interested parties should contact ifla-sponsorship@kit-group.org for more information.
Will there be Library Tours?
The Library tours will take place on Thursday 13 August (and the two day tours as well on Friday 14 August). We very much encourage you to participate in these to experience the activities and environment of the local library field. They are keen to show you around.

Who should attend the World Library and Information Congress?
Everyone is welcome! We believe it will be a valuable opportunity for members of our field at all career stages and in any library type to attend, participate in, and gain from the experience. Let’s build the Future together with our united knowledge.
When and where will WLIC 2026 take place?
The Congress will take place in Busan, South Korea, at the BEXCO. The main Sessions will be from 10 to 12 August, and library visits will be on 13 and 14 August.
Will interpretation services be provided at the Congress?
We have utilized AI translation in the past and plan to employ it again in Busan for all the session rooms.
Is there a registration fee?
Yes, the registration fee includes the Exhibition Opening on Monday, the Cultural Evening on Tuesday, and a library visit upon availability. For more information, go to the Registration page here: https://2026.ifla.org/registration/

What is included in the registration fee?
The following is included in a full registration:
Entrance to:
- all Sessions

- one Library Visit (upon availability)
Can I buy a one or two day Ticket?
Due to the Congress length of 3 days, only one day tickets are available; please review the Registration Page for more information.
how can i register a group?
Group registrations are accepted for a minimum of 10 participants. For further information, please contact wlic-registration@kit-group.org.
When is the deadline for registrations?
Early Bird registration deadline is 31 May 2026 and Standard registration ends on 8 August 2026. After this date you will have to register onsite, for the onsite fee.
What is the cancellation policy?
Check the General Terms & Conditions for all the details.
What forms of payment are acceptable online and onsite?
Payment is required at the time of registration and is due in EUR, using one of the following methods: Credit Card (Visa, AMEX or MasterCard are accepted. Credit cards are debited in EUR.) or Bank Transfer – until 1 August 2026.
If you register onsite, you can pay by Credit Card or Cash; we will accept EUR or KRW as Currency.
Does IFLA provide a letter of attendance?
Yes, IFLA will provide a letter of attendance per email after the event is over.
Are there any grants available?
Yes, a range of grants has been published. Please check the website for the specifics:
I am with the media, Are complimentary media passes available?
Media passes are available. Contact wlic-registration@kit-group.org for more information. Please note a copy of your press card is required.
My visa application might not be accepted - will my registration fee be refunded?
Yes, your registration fee will be refunded. Please read the Terms and Conditions that apply for obtaining a refund. Note that while we have liaised with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Korea to alert them to international participants for the Conference, we are unable to intervene in decisions made by Korean authorities with regard to visas.

Venues
Where does the Conference take place?
The 90th IFLA Congress will take place at the Busan Exhibition and Convention Center (BEXCO), in the City Centre of Busan.

Yes, the BEXCO is accessible.

Is catering available in the venues?
There are coffee outlets throughout the BEXCO and on the lower Ground of the Exhibition Centre there are restaurants.
In the Exhibition you will find a Coffee Outlet, with snacks as well.
Is there wifi at the venues?
The BEXCO offers free WiFi to all visitors. In the Exhibition Hall we will offer an additional network, more details about the Network name and Password will be shared onsite on the signage.
