Seo-gu Amidream Library

Seogu Amidream Library, opened in November 2025, is the first district public library in Seo-gu, Busan. As an “everyday library,” it brings new vitality to reading culture in Ami-dong, an area considered culturally underserved. The name “Amidream” combines “Ami-dong,” where the library is located, and “ARMY,” the fan community of the global artist BTS, reflecting the idea of pursuing dreams and growth through books.

The basement level features “Kkachigogae Book Maru,” a free reading space inspired by the hilly terrain of Ami-dong, along with club rooms, a Book Café, and “Majuchim,” an adjoining lounge area. The first floor includes a children’s collection, the children’s cultural space “Deullak Nallak,” and an outdoor playground, “Kkumjaram Playground.”

The second floor offers General Collection 1 with ocean views and an outdoor lounge deck, while the third floor holds General Collection 2, a program room, a small gallery “Hanpyeong Gallery”, and an outdoor reading deck. The library also maintains a specialized collection of medical, healthcare, and wellness topics, reflecting local characteristics and community needs.

Located with views of Busan Port to the south and the mountains of Gudeok and Seunghak to the north, the library allows visitors to enjoy reading alongside diverse seasonal landscapes. Bookshelves are thoughtfully arranged to minimize visual obstruction, offering stunning ocean views from various points throughout the building.

Seogu Amidream Library aims to expand its role beyond a traditional reading space into a community-based knowledge and cultural platform, offering diverse cultural content and encouraging active community participation.
