IFLA Emerging Leaders
IFLA is pleased to offer Emerging Leaders Grants to support promising library professionals in attending WLIC 2026 in Busan, South Korea. The programme helps rising leaders grow their skills, expand their networks, and contribute to IFLA’s global mission while benefiting their local communities. The 2026 edition is especially meaningful as it coincides with the launch of IFLA’s centenary celebrations – IFLA 100.

Discovery Grants
IFLA is pleased to offer Discovery Grants for professionals from IFLA member institutions and other membership categories to attend WLIC 2026 in Busan, South Korea. A total of 20 grants are available for staff of IFLA institutional members and 10 for professionals across other categories. These grants offer a valuable opportunity for participants to share their perspectives internationally and bring back fresh ideas and practices to strengthen their institutions and communities.

Pacific Grants
IFLA is pleased to offer grants for 5 professionals from Pacific countries, excluding Australia and New Zealand, to attend the IFLA WLIC 2026 in Busan, South Korea. This opportunity allows professionals from the Pacific to join the most international library conference, bring fresh perspectives to the global stage, and help build stronger international collaboration and lasting partnerships.

Margreet Wijnstroom Grant
The Margreet Wijnstroom Grant will support one delegate from a UN-designated least-developed country to attend this year’s Conference. This initiative promotes inclusivity and brings a new voice to the international library community.

Angela Bersekowski Grants
With a generous contribution from the legacy of Angela Bersekowsk, IFLA is offering 10 grants for young professionals to attend IFLA WLIC 2026. This initiative supports the next generation of library leaders, fostering fresh ideas, global conversations, and future professional connections.

Dr. Shawky Salem Conference Grant (SSCG)
This annual grant was established by Dr. Shawky Salem and IFLA. It enables one expert in library and information sciences from the Arab Countries (AC) to attend the IFLA Congress. Candidates should be of Arab nationality, not exceed 45 years, have experience of at least 5 years in the LIS profession and have the approval of his / her organisation. Priority is given to applicants who are first-time attendees to the IFLA Congress.

IFLA Green Library Award 2026
The IFLA Green Library Award aims to recognise a library or project that demonstrates exceptional commitment to environmental sustainability and clearly communicates this dedication. It seeks to raise awareness of the vital role libraries play in social responsibility and environmental education, while strengthening the global green library movement across areas such as sustainable buildings, services, programmes, resources and socially sustainable initiatives. The Award promotes the growth of green library practices at local, regional and international levels, and encourages libraries of all types to share their sustainability achievements with a global audience.

2026 IFLA PressReader International Marketing Award
Win €3,500 in funds to travel to the 2025 WLIC 2026 in Busan, South Korea! The 2026 IFLA PressReader International Marketing Award recognises the best library marketing projects from 2024, aims to encourage marketing in libraries and provides an opportunity for libraries to share marketing experience and expertise globally.
